[SOLVED] DP-DVI adapter

I have a small monitor I would like to use beside my big monitor. The monitor is DVI and my 3080 only has data port and HDMI. So I bought this adapter https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GPMRXL0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Before I use it I thought it wise to get an opinion. Is this adapter legit? or is there more to a Data Port X DVI conversion then pinouts? I don't want to fry the GPU just because I wanted an additional little screen for no good reason other than it is there.

no active conversion is needed so that cable should do fine.

it will either work or not and won't damage anything if it does not.

i bought this hdmi to dvi myself not too long ago and it works great

glad to hear it. enjoy the extra screen space.

i started with 2 and now have 3 (well 4 if you count the tv hooked up). no way i could go back to a single screen.
