[SOLVED] DP Issues - GTX980m

Hi, hoping someone can help. I have a PC Specialist gaming laptop and have just bought a AOC gaming monitor. Unfortunately when I connect the displayport to the mini DP on my laptop nothing happens. I have no idea why and havent a clue where to start with this.

My GPU is a GTX-980m which should support DP.

usually there function key to turn on/use external monitor, should be in the manual
