dp to HDMI Oculus Rift consumer version

My Oculus Rift will arrive on Monday. I have a GTX 980 ti. I'm using the HDMI out to a TV. I'm using the DVI-I out to my monitor. I'm intending to use a displayport to HDMI for the Oculus Rift.

Will this work?

Note that I'm using the DVI-i out to the monitor as it will boot to the monitor. The GPU apparently prioritized the DVI out for boot.

I could use the DP-HDMI for the TV if that's preferable for some reason.

Corrections and suggestions are appreicatied.

Shouldn't matter at all.

I don't think the Rift even needs HDMI 2.0, just 1.3.

That said any future cables or adapters you purchase should be HDMI 2.0 to allow for future 4k @ 60hz for any monitors you may get going forward.

Be aware of the 3m max length of DisplayPort.

HDMI is included in a lot of PC hardware, but it's targeted to the A/V industry.

HDMI has got a limit for decent quality cables of 15M in length, that's why they're ideal for VR configs.

It looks like Oculus Rift advises to just use straight HDMI - not sure the reason. I switched my TV to a 10 foot displayport to HDMI and that seems to work without problems. So I'll use the HDMI out to Oculus Rift as they recommend.
