Question DP to VGA for 144hz?

Hey, I'm really upset that my GPU doesn't have the ports to support 144hz. But, I was wondering if my displayport on the back of my motherboard could connect to a VGA adapter, which would connect to the VGA port on my monitor to achieve 144hz (This 144hz monitor doesnt have DP). If this is possible then can anyone let me know. Thanks

What GPU do you have? You're not going to get 144Hz out of VGA.

VGA is completely incapable of supporting 1080p 144hz, no adapter can change this.

You need a device with an HDMI or Display port connector capable of running 1080p 144hz.

According to Acers webpage, your monitor only supports 144hz over DVI Dual link.
So apparently your monitor is one of the rare ones that doesn't support 144hz over HDMI.

Can you link your exact 1030 model?

I had a discussion with someone else on the forums today, asking why dual link DVI wasnt working. He said that the 1030s DVI port was only single link.

And you are 100% sure this will work with 144hz and compatible with my gpu? Looking at some of the answered questions on the product says different. But some also say it will support 144hz.

Yeah, also I wanted to make sure your aware of the 1030's DVI port being single link dvi? Will that one still work?

You may be able to use an hdmi to dvi dual link adapter capabke of 144hz, but im not sure.

GT 1030 DVI output is single-link only. Single-link vs dual-link capability cannot be identified visually by pin count, both use an identical physical connector.
