I've seem to run into some trouble with RAM on this board.
It will hang on Memtest86+ in dual channel mode within 2 minutes, and it failed Orthos in the Stress RAM setting at stock 1.8GHz on 1.95V in 38 seconds. I've tried voltages up to 2.0V (G.Skill 2GB "NQ" DDR2-800 is rated 5-5-5-15 at 1.8-2.0V) at 5-6-6-17 but it still hangs. Each DIMM individually passes Memtest86+ without any problems at 800MHz. One DIMM will autodetect at 5-5-5-15 and the other at 5-6-6-17, but they both work at their autodetected timings. Whatever.
Now, the really weird thing: I tried to run the 2GB in single channel mode. So instead of sticking the two sticks in slots of the same color I put them in different colored slots, which should be single channel. The BIOS boots up and says "Dual Channel Interleaved mode" and CPU-Z confirms. Orthos does as well, with a nice system lockup.
So, I think I want to RMA the sticks and get something else, unless someone knows of a solution to the problem above.
I'm looking for anyone with a DQ6, preferably Rev 3.3, who is running 2GB Dual Channel at 800MHz, 4 or 5 CAS, and can actually pass Memtest86+. What RAM are you using?
I was thinking I would try the Corsair XMS2 PC2-6400 5-5-5 2GB DIMMs, or the OCZ Platinum Rev 2 PC2-6400 4-4-4-12 2GB DIMMs. Anyone tried those, how are they?
