DRAM LED Flashes on startup

Hello, I am building my first computer and I have recently just installed my RAM. When I placed it in the slots and turned it on, the DRAM LED flashed quickly then went off. When I hit MemOK on the motherboard it flashed red three times. I cannot check to see if the bios turns on because i still need to purchase my graphics card.
Motherboard - ASUS M5a97 r2.0
Ram - Corsair vengeance lp 8gb

The DRAM LED flashing once is normal, as your memory is tested. If there is a problem with your RAM, the LED will stay lit.
Until you get your graphics card, further troubleshooting (if it is even needed) may not be possible.
