Just built my pc and my computer will not boot up. Tried to see if it was due to the CMOS, as I can't access BIOS at all, as i took it out the cmos battery hoping that would reset it but no success. As there is no MemOk button in this mother board, taking out the CMOS battery was the only option i can think of. I plugged in an HDMI cable to MOBO to monitor nothing went on, and nor did connecting any mouse or keyboard. No beeping was heard after i powered up the computer as that is a normal thing one does to get the POST going I am assuming.

In short...computer not booting, yellow light is just solid(which is the DRAM Light according to the manual). I taken the Ram out several times, tested each slot with one ram only, or doing the combo of 1-3 and 2-4 and no luck either. No beeping noise, nothing going on at all, yet everything seems functional. Can anyone please offer some help?

Hi sasarkar :)

If the error LED is constantly lit then Post will not advance until the fault is rectified.
Clearing CMOS will not help.
The only way is to swap out the RAM you have or test them within another system.
Make sure all MB connections are secure and check the RAM slots for contamination.
If still no go then you have a dead MB which you should RMA.

Please list the RAM part No and size so I can check for compatability.
Sometimes OC Ram requires Bios intervention to get them to work however if your system can't post then check the RAM against the MB QVL list to see if they have been tested to work with your MB.

look at the mb serial number the last few digits are the bios rev. if you think it lower then the last one out use the usb flashback port and use the renamer program to rename the bios file so you can update the bios.

if it not a bios issue check under the cpu for bent pins.

I have cleaned up the area as much as i could so there is no contamination as well.

Hello! Thank you very much for the response, and i have checked all of the connections and its still not working at all oddly.
The ram is G.Skill TridentZ F4-3200C16D-16GTZB. DDR4-3200 CL16-18-18-38 1.35v
PC4-25600 8Gx2 Intel XMP 2.0 Ready

well the bios according to you is likely out of date. last 4 digits are definitely smaller than the the current one. went to the renamer and with a new updated BIOS on a blank usb, as well tried to see if the bios was the issue, plugging into several of the USB spots in the back of the MOBO but no luck. Even when I have no ram installed on it, the DRAM LED light is still yellow.

yea i double checked again to see if it was due to a lose connection but no difference. Ram is G.Skill TridentZ F4-3200C16D-16GTZB. DDR4-3200 CL16-18-18-38 1.35v
PC4-25600 8Gx2 Intel XMP 2.0 Ready

Your G.SKILL F4-3200C16D-16GTZB 16GB(8GB*2) RAM Modules have been tested and qualified to work with your MB. The only thing that I can suggest you do is to update your Bios however, you say you were unsuccessful. Check that you did the following for Bios update.

You must access your Bios for the EZ Flash 3 utility. *1
Download the Bios file to an empty fat32 single partition USB and at the same time download the Brenamer tool. Execute the Brenamer to rename the Bios to the correct .CAP file.
Insert the USB into a USB port.
In EZ Flash 3, press Tab to select the drive field and locate the .CAP file that has been renamed.
Do not switch the system off during Bios flash and when its finished restart the system and remove the USB.
Your latest Bios is 0906 available here: https://www.asus.com/au/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-Z270H-GAMING/HelpDesk_Download/
The Brenamer is below in the Bios utilities.

*1 As you have OC RAM at 3200Mhz and post is not advancing then you may not be able to access Bios to update. If this is the case then you should obtain a kit of RAM that the CPU supports.

In your case your i7-7700K officially supports up to 2400MHz so the IMC on the chip may not recognize your OC RAM. In which case I recommend buying a kit that you can return once the Bios has been updated. Not all vendors will do this so check before you buy.

So I bought a new ram kit, a new usb to use for BIOS and the DDR4 ram was a Kingston Hyper Fury X which I believe is part of the QVL list. All in all i think it is likely a defective MOBO as there is no other reason it shouldn't work as I have taken all the steps mentioned above. If there is any other suggestions please inform me so I can test it out. Thank you all for the help.

Cheers

So I have resolved the issue finally. It was a defective mother board and fortunately I was able to get a replacement and it seems to be working so far so good. Cheers for all the suggestions and help :)
