Dram or sdram??

So I'm buying a msi g41m-p34 motherboard http://www.msi.com/product/mb/G41M-P34.html#/?div=Detail and it says it supports ddr3 memory, but its dram and most ram I see is sdram (like on newegg). Does it matter if I use dram or sdram?

Also, this does use 240pin ram right? I'm not completely sure.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

SDRAM is a type of DRAM. All DDR3 is SDRAM but it may be written as DRAM.

That is an old board and does not support faster DDR3 modules. It only supports DDR3 1333 max.

I recommend GSkill or Corsair and make sure you use 1.5v modules.

Right now im using 32bit windows, if I install the 8gigs, will it still run? I know 32bit only supports 4gig of ram, but will it run if I have the 8gigs installed? And it'll only show 4?

kole9273 yes it will still run just it will only pick up around 3.25 or 3.75GB of RAM depending various factors which i do not understand about RAM and system allocation of it.

The only way to use more than 4GB is to go to a 64-bit OS.

As said above you can only use 4GB with 32bit Windows so no sense in getting 8GB.
