I have a new pair of DDR3 Crucial Ballistix 1866. My Z87 plus has memory speed on auto and see them as 1333. Is it sufficient to set the value at 1866 or i have to do something more?
Boards commonly resort the RAM frequency to lower sets at default. It's perfectly safe to overclock it to where it should be. You wouldn't need to adjust anything else, voltage can stat at default.

thanks. i was thinking that maybe i need to set the voltage and timings but seems that the default values are matching the ones of the module.

No need for voltage and yeah it's right where it needs to be. If you overclock it use the XMP profiles so the timings are right
Just to clarify, you aren't OCing it, it was designed to run at 1866, enabling XMP simply sets it to it's correct freq and mobos default all DRAM to the mobos default at install

It's true when i used the term "overclock" it was to indicate raising the frequency back up to default values. Nothing will be over it's recommended standards.
