Drastic FPS drops

As previously stated, I've got an issue with drastic FPS drops while gaming. For example, the game runs smooth for approximately 5-6 minutes and then the FPS drops to 3-4 (LoL or DotA 2).
The low FPS persists for the next 30-40 seconds and returns to normal afterwards. This process is constantly repeated while gaming.
Now then, here are my PC specs:

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+, ~2.1 Ghz
4GB of RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 630
I'm using Windows 7

I've installed Core Temp 1.0 RC6 to check onto CPU temperature at those FPS drops.
Core #0 69 °C MAX
Core #1 70 °C MAX
Also, I've used ThunderMaster to check onto GPU temperature
It didn't rise over 40 °C
I've also opened the PC and vacuumed it inside out, the problem still persists.

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

^disagree mate - if are talking core temp here then they are dangerous temps.

Caster - download amd overdrive & use thecthermal marginnin that for temp testing - its more accurate & reliable.

Core temp is untrustworthy on amd rigs in my experience.

Eh okay, for AMD's unclear reporting of CPU temps, I'll agree.

@OP check this out to figure out how to measure your actual temps (requires thinking, sadly) http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2122665/understanding-temperature-amd-cpus-apus.html

Nah, my PC is like 8 years old, but the FPS drops come and go randomly over the past two years. I'm getting the following error via AMD Overdrive:

AMD OverDrive cannot detect supported AMD chipset on this computer.
