99% of the time if I'm having booze it's going to be beer, probably a pale ale. I spend more time hanging out in my local brewpubs than I care to admit...
Like some others in this thread, I used to hate gin. Tried it when I was in my late teens and then didn't touch the stuff for at least 5 years. And then a few years back I was at a party and gin was all that was left so I gave it a try and hey, it wasn't so bad! It is now hands-down my preferred hard alcohol. Gin and tonic was my preferred cocktail for a while, until I realized that tonic has pretty much as much sugar as regular pop, at which point I switched to gin and soda. It can be a bit more hit and miss I find, depending on brand of gin, ratio of soda, and how much lime you have. But if you get it just right it's fantastic, and even if you don't it's still pretty decent.
Edit: I do quite enjoy the odd white russian as well
