Drive clicks as if seeking and then spins down

I have a 500GB barracuda hdd originally from an external hdd that I upgraded to a wd green, but it's not showing up in my computer or device manager, I have yet to boot into my linux box to see if it's recognised there, but windows doesn't make the "hardware attached" noise when I plug it in, so I'm assuming the drive is dead
and I will put in a recording of the sound it makes if soundcloud will recognise that I confirmed my email (sorry for the background noise, my PC is very loud) and just for future note, the sound is a lot less "grindy" than the recording makes it seem

drive makes clicky noise? yeah it's a goner. try and get your data off of it if you can and junk it.

The drive has failed. The clicking noise is not made by seeking, it's made by the read/write arm trying to free itself because it's trapped between the platters.

well, all I was wanting to do with it was use it to bolster my 3.5 TB NAS, and it's an old drive that just suddenly stopped working, so I'm not really that sad at it's loss, just a copy of win7 is all that's really important on it, and even that's negligable as I have 3 laptops running 7, and my workplace has several old machines I hacked apart to make a frankenstein NAS, so I have several product keys to replace the one on the hdd

If any of the product keys are for pre-installed (OEM) Windows, those keys cannot be used on a different computer, they won't be valid.
