I have two CD drives in my Dell. D: is just a read-only drive, E: is a
R/W.
D: does not recognize new disks and when clicking on that drive with
Explorer, I get message to insert new disk that does not go away, even
after
the disk is inserted. Drive E: works fine. Any Suggestions? Thanks.

Some older CD readers will not read some newer kinds of CDs (e.g CD-R/CD-RW discs), and as a result will give an error saying something like, 'Insert disc. There is no disc in drive D:'
