I have a Seagate ST3000DM001-1C that is not giving me any trouble but I routinely test mt older drives. This one is closing in on four years. Seatools test results are:

SMART - Pass
Short DST - FAIL
Short Generic - Pass
Long Generic -Pass

CrystalDisk

Caution:
Relocated Sector Count 99 99 36 720 RAW
Current Sector Pending Count 100 100 0 28 Raw
Uncorrected Sector Count 100 100 0 28 RAW

I believe I should be shopping for a new drive but like I said, I have not experienced any issues yet. I thought I would post for comment and interpretation for my general knowledge.

I have just ordered a WD Blue 3 tb, Slower drive than the Seagate but not an issue for me. Failing drive has mostly photographs. Everything is backed up. I might keep the Seagate connected just see how long it lasts.
How important is the data? You have the equivalent of a "check engine" light on. Do you wait until the car breaks down in the middle of nowhere to have it looked at? That is what waiting until you have "issues" with the drive is. How lucky do you feel.
