Drive is separated?

I'm trying to do a clean install of Windows 10 from USB. I only have one SSD but there are two separate unnalocated partitions when I'm installing. See here:

How do I make them one and format the drive?

I think partition 1 is the usb I'm installing windows from. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You can clearly see, that unallocated space and 16MB partition is on same Disk 0.

As for formatting, the option is grayed out. Will the drive automatically be formatted before installation?

If the drive is empty, windows install will create (and also format) all the necessary partitions by itself.

You can't format unallocated space - obviously. Partition has to be created first.

One more thing, which would be the right one to boot from in bios? I'm not sure what UEFI means.

It doesn't really make a big difference, if you're booting in UEFI or in Legacy mode.

UEFI is necessary, if you want to boot from drive larger than 2TB in size. Your drive is 1TB, so you can boot in either mode. Doesn't really matter.
