drive letter assigments

How does one tell XP the next usb key I plug in, is to use drive letter G,
And don't use E or F.???

Once you plug it in, right click My Computer, Manage. Go to Disk Management and re-assign the drive letter of the USB device.

Yes, I knew of that way.
I was thinking of more like a range exclusion.

If you install Tweakui Powertoy for XP you can open it and then expand the
My Computer section.
