I am hitting problems with muddles drives and desktop folders.
[FIRST]
The first problem is the CD-ROM drive letter. I call it 'Z'.
When I try and search my CD-ROM, I see the status info on Windows
Explorer going through folders on the C: drive! And when I get the
results they refer to folders on C: but the folder do not contains
the "found" files!
If I drag and drop the folder from the search results pane onto the
desktop then I get an object on the 'Z' drive but with a very
different path.
[SECOND]
When I press a button on an application (CachemanXP) to save a
report, then I get the usual window allowing me to select the
location. I select the desktop at the top of the folder tree by
pressing the up-arrow button repeatedly.
But when i get to "desktop" I get a message which says:
"C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\desktop
refers to a location that is unavailable.
It could be on a hard drive on this computer, or
on a network. Check to make sure that the disk
is properly inserted ... " etc
The "main" desktop on the folder tree seems to be the desktop folder
in user NETWORKSERVICE's Documents & Settings. If I go to the
NETWORKSERVICE folders, then that is where the output actually went!

How can I unmuddle these incorrect drive and folder assigments?
