drive letters

today i wiped my hardrive, installed win2k, but once i got it all set up, my primary master drive's letter was E: (this is the one with the OS). My primary slave was C:
any idea's to why it assigned the letters like this? i don't get any errors (at least not yet) with my main drive being E:, but it won't let me rename it to C: Will this cause me problems in the future? If so i'm just gonna pull my second drive for now, reinstall and set it back up later. If its not gonna cause any problems i'll just leave it like it is.
System specs if needed:

512MB SDRAM (256 x 2)

40BG Maxtor HDD (primary master)

hmmmm. curious problem.

i suggest u pull your other drive, bootup like normal, use the drive manager in the admin tools to rename your primary partition to C:, reboot then reconnect & configure the secondary drive later on.

i can't rename my boot drive..it won't let me..but its all good now, i just pulled the other drive and reinstalled, then set it back up when i got everything running
