I have 3 Western Digital hard drives connected to my computer. Today when attempting to download some pictures I could not find the drive named "I" It does not seem to be running. How do I go about if this is a drive problem or a computer problem? Thank you. Charles E. Chapman candb55@bresnan.net

Don't post your email address and your real name in forums, you're going to get lots of spam or worse. You can edit your original post to remove them.

I'm assuming your drive I is an internal drive. Try moving the drive with the problem to another SATA port or put it in a USB enclosure or in another PC. If it starts working, then your problem is in the motherboard. If it doesn't, it's the drive that is defect.

If the drive is external, try using different cables or a different power adapter or a different USB port.
