Have you tried removing the device in the Device Manager and rebooting? Have you tried another PS2 mouse?

Grumpy ..... Device Driver is showing a big fat yellow question mark under mouse drivers ..... this ia an old cheap laptop I have a single use intended for. I can get a USB mouse to work OK with the single port........ but need another port that won't be found with a multi port hub plugged into the single. So a working ps2 port is the answer. Also the ps2 and touch pad are tied together --- so the touch pad doesn't work either.

Grumpy ...... Dumped the unknown device as advised .... learned (by doing) I had to plug in ps2 mouse before rebooting so that it could be recognized at power up ..... then the generic driver was installed....

Works great now and frees up the only USB --- thanks......W.Barnett
