Driver for SummaSketch MM1201 vintage digitizer

I would like to use this digitizer with my win 8.1 laptop. Is there a driver >= XP that would work. Is HardwareData.org a safe site? It doesn't display it's links the IE status bar.

What are you using 32 or 64 bit?? If 64 bit then it wont work

If its plugged in go to its entry in device manager. Dbl click on it go to the details tab.

Change it to hardware ids. Copy and paste whats there in here

I am using 64-bit but can the driver be installed in x86? Also. I am going through a USB-to-Serial adaptor.

Hmm got a powered USB hub? Try plugging it into that

Sometimes you can get that error if there's not enough power on the port

No if it needs drivers 32 bit drivers wont work

found a reference for the mm1201. It gives lot of details on how the board operates and the format of the communication with the computer. The USB needs to provide 250 mA and you can only plug in the usb or 12 v supply, but not both. This will probably take some rewiring and driver writing. Ugh.

If you get a powered hub you would plug it into that
