Driver help gtx 970

Hello. Bought a used gtx 970. Went to install it and drivers from nvidia website site. Every time it gets about half way installed the system reboots. And keeps doing this. To stop it I have to turn off take card out and go back to internal graphics. Use a program to uninstall all drivers and try again. The card works. Fans come on. Boots up problem always starts when I try to install drivers. Rig info below. Should I try to install an older nvidia driver first?

Asus m32cd
I5 6400
16 gb ddr4 ram
Zotac gtx 970
Sea sonic 520w power supply
Windows 10
And I have even done a pc windows reset. For fresh clean install.
All drivers from asus website for my pc and up to date


BTW this same system before the reset has had a gtx 650 and a gtx 960 that worked fine with geforce experience. This 970 will not tho

Sounds like the 970 is faulty to me. Have you tried it in another computer?

Don't have another one with a hard drive in it atm. Or I would. I was thinking same thing. Although if I keep drivers from installing the card works. I've even played a game on it although fps has sucked.
