Driver Installation Problem

So, I've repeatedly tried to update my graphics driver but, to my attention it doesn't seem to be updated because whenever i check device manager to see if the driver version is the one i downloaded, the original driver version is still there. But on the "event" tab it tells me I have installed a new driver/service. I have uninstalled my current driver and installed a new one but the original one prevails. I have used a program such as driver booster(free version) and it tells me it has successfully installed the driver but, when I do another scan it notifies me that my driver needs updating!! So can someone tell what im doing wrong?

Go to manufactures web site for driver to manually download and install instead of using the driver booster program. When install completes restart computer. Go to device manager and check device info to see if you had success
