Driver Power State Failure BSOD Every SHutdown/Sleep

Every time i go to shut my computer down it will hang and eventually BlueScreen to Driver Power State Failure.

I believe all the drivers are up to date so I'm not saure what to do next?

It's a Samsung NP700G7C-S01UK Laptop running Windows 8.

Any help apprecated, Cheers.

The trouble with laptops is most components are very customized (including discrete video cards) for the particular hardware application. Having drivers up to date is not necessarily a good thing - as it is on a desktop - unless you download all the drivers specific to the laptop from the manufacturers web site. In this case, you want to make sure you download drivers only from the Samsung page supporting your laptop model. Start here:

Click on the 'Driver' link. The newest drivers available are from around a year ago. Any updated drivers you use from other pages (ie Nvidia.com) are basically at your own risk.

It's kind of sad, but has to do with the proprietary nature of the hardware built specific to each laptop. Even Radeon and Nvidia cards are tweaked for each build in most laptops. This makes the behavior of driver updates direct from Nvidia or AMD unpredictable. Usually if the hardware's tweaked outside of spec, the drivers also need to be tweaked. This means you're at the mercy of the laptop producer to provide you with appropriate drivers.

I would suggest you update (or rollback) all the drivers to those listed on the Samsung download page for this model.

+1 as her said, sad thing is, most manufacturers don't update the drivers and you are left with buggy or underperforming drivers.
