I have no clue what this error relates to so i am posting is this forum. I recently got a new HDD yesterday and installed windows 8.1. Now whenever it wakes from sleep or even sometimes a shutdown it will give this error. It freezes for about a minute my HDD power led goes inactive and then it happens. I reset almost always fixes it. I have also checked drivers and none say they need to be updated. I downloaded the Gigabyte 760 drivers for my video card and used the Asus motherboard disk for those drivers. Is there anything I am missing? Is there a way to fix this or is it a HDD error? Thanks for the help!

Solution
You'll need to download a BIOS updater from the manufacturer's website.
If the computer wasn't built by a manufacturer like HP or Dell, the motherboard manufacturer will provide the BIOS updater.
Updating the BIOS needs to be done very carefully, and a mistake can damage your computer to the point where it won't even power on, requiring service by a professional. Replacing the hard disk won't solve the problem and the BIOS is stored on the motherboard itself, not the hard disk. So be very careful if you are planning a BIOS update and follow every instruction in the download page.
Don't power off the computer or otherwise interfere with the update process, in other words, once you start the update, don't touch the computer until update...

Disable "FAST STARTUP".
right click on the battery icon in system tray, select "Power options".
click on "choose what the power buttons do".
click on "change settings that are currently unavailable".
uncheck the box that says "turn on fast startup (recommended)".
click ok.
close everything and restart the computer.

I under stand thats a way to make it stop. Is that the only solution though? To not let the computer sleep or hibernate?

The computer will sleep and hibernate even after you disable fast startup.
Another option would be to update the BIOS and then try, but this is an easier option to try first.
It won't make the computer stop sleeping or hibernating, it will just disable a new feature of Windows 8 called "Hybrid sleep".

Okay I'll give it a try. How do i update the BIOS?
