So I got BSOD, and have had them about once a month for the past 4 months. I finally used BlueScreenView and got this.

I have an ASUS Laptop, and I HAVE noticed my power adapter makes a squealing noise. Could it be I need to unplug more often to prevent surges that may be causing this, or does the adapter have anything to do with it?

You could try running system file checker (sfc) at an elevated command prompt (as an administrator).
In the search box (click on Start) type cmd and right click on it in the list and click on Run as administrator
At the command prompt type sfc /scannow and press Enter
