Ok this may be a stupid question but to monitors require drivers to work with windows vista?

Your O/S should detect the screen and its capabilities. I am using windows Vista 64 bit and i can't get higher than 1024x768. Therefore i believe that i require a monitor driver to allow me go get 1280x1024. You probably need to explain what your problem is.

In general, you do not need drivers for the monitor.

The only time you would need drivers is if the monitor had the ability to pivot (i.e. rotate the monitor 90 degrees).

If you cannot set the monitor to native resolution, then it's likely a video card driver issue.

I agree, It would appear that its a video card driver issue, however how would you explain my dilemma if indeed its the same fault as Fordys?
