Drop in folding

So I just started folding@home and for the first couple of hours it said that I would have around 250,000 points earned per day. However after watching a movie and checking back it now only says that I am earning 50,000 points per day. Anyone know why this drop has suddenly happened?

Most likely an error has occurred in the Video card driver.
When an error occurs the VC will down clock and stay at the down clocked speed until you reboot the machine.

If you are overclocking you may need to reduce speeds or increase voltage.

rebooting didn't work but it got back to normal after I reinstalled the software. Any idea on how to prevent it from happening again?

I don't fold, but it's my understanding that it works in the background. If you do other things that take resources then it won't be able to fold as fast. If when you first install it it's able to fold as fast as it can you'll get a high score. but if you start gaming or do other things then I would expect your folding score to fall. I personally wouldn't worry about it.
