Dropped computer, slow

About a week ago my brother was carrying my computer for me down the stairs and dropped it. The front came off, left a hole in the stairs door. You can imagine the force now hopefully.
I'm thinking it's a HDD issue but now I have no idea what to do about it.

Does the CPU overheat? The cooler may have been partially dislodged.

That run of chkdsk will do no good. Run the command again this time as follows:

chkdsk /f /r

The /f will tell chkdsk to fix file system errors and the /r will tell it to look for and attempt to repair bad sectors. This will likely take several hours.
