Dropped CPU on corner

The cpu was dropped from a height of 10cm on one of its corners ....a very small piece got separated (broken i guess) or chipped from the corner...both green areas and yellow area(??) are chipped...will it still work??

you could always try it.. OR get a new one. though I have NO idea if it could cause damage to your motherboard so beware!!!

It doesn't look like it damaged anything important. All of the gold plates are still there correct? I'd give it a try.

I will have to wait for the motherboard then to arrive...i will post about what happens soon...thank you guys

The gold plates are there but a very tiny piece as shown is broken....btw what is the golden plate made of and what does it contain??

Honestly, I don't know much about them other than they are gold plated to prevent corrosion and enhance the contact with the socket pins. If you're missing a gold plate then it can't make contact and the CPU won't work and could possibly do something to your motherboard.
