Dropped external Hard Drive. Should I trust it with important backups?

Today I dropped my WD Passport 1000 GB external hard drive on the floor from a 3 feet high table. The drive was in a protective soft case (like a book when the zipper is open), but at that time, the zipper of the case was open and the drive fell down hitting the hard stone floor. The drive was facing down and so it hit the floor directly, and not the case.

I plugged it in, and it works. No clicking or beeping. No bad sector. Checked fully with two softwares.

Do you think it's still as reliable as new, to be relied upon for important backups? Would it fail at some point in future because of the trauma?

Feelin' upset.

Solution
The housing should absorb some impact.

It's kind of hard to tell. HDDs can fail at any time anyway, even without a drop (hence why you have backups. I hope). I probably wouldn't be too concerned if it's still working fine now.

EDIT: Ninja.

Thank you! But how could it fail in future? What could have been damaged by this fall? Is there a threshold like if it runs fine for 'x' days, you can trust it's all fine?

Does the enclosure of the external HDD absorb some impact?
