I recently dropped my hard drive from under a meter and now it will beep for 6 beeps and then go silent, I used Seatools for windows to see if it showed up there and it does, I also looked on device manager and it is there also but I can't access it through 'my computer', it just won't show up at all. I know that the hard drive is screwed but its showing up in Seatools. Is there a way of fixing this or do I need to get my data recovered? I have very important files and folder on there that I wish to keep

Beeping means the motor spindle is seized or can't spin due to stiction(static friction).

there's nothing you can do safely outside of a cleanroom environment and experience in fixing stiction, replacing, the head rack assembly, and/or adjusting the motor spindle/platters.

You'll need professional data recovery help unfortunately.

Remember to always maintain an up to date, verified backup.

In a case like this the cost is likely to be more in the $700-$1200 range. Six beeps doesn't sound like head stiction, it sounds like the read/write heads and or media (platters) have been damaged. I would guess that the drive is still spinning. Many Seagate drives make a sort of beep sound in the way the heads vibrate trying (and failing) to read the servo on the platters. I know here we charge $650 + cost of parts for cases like that. If it's a DM series like ST3000DM001 it's more like $800-$1000 + parts.

If you do send it out for recovery, just be careful of anyone who wants money up front. Many Seagates like that are lost causes from the beginning and there's no shortage of people who will take your money just to give some false hope. Often knowing full well that it's impossible.
