dropped notebook.lagging screen

I dropped my vaio from a bunk bed and now the screen is lagging A LOT and is off colour. But when I plug an external screen everything is working well on that scree(ext.) There is no external damage and the screen is not cracked or anything. Would changing the screen solve it or do I need to fix something else like the inverter? Any help would be welcome.

If you change the screen, it should come with a new inverter, depends on exactly what the screen does it could be as simple as fixing a connection. Have someone that knows about laptops take a look at the system and suggest what to do.
