dropping to 1 FPS with headphone static in GTA 5 after 5 seconds

So when I load into online play in GTA 5, it is smooth for about 5 seconds before my PC stutters to shit and my FPS goes to 1. Not only that, the sound of the game is replaced by some weird static sounds in my headphones. If I unplug the headphones from the USB and plug them in again, it then returns to normal. This is such a weird bug, someone hulp pls 🙁

specs:
Intel i7 5820k
Headphones: HyperX cloud 2
500GB SSD
16GB of RAM
GPU is AMD Radeon r9 390 8GB

Gta v is an odd game for headsets on occasion. Make sure your headset is plugged in and set to default in sound properties before you load the game.
If you plug it in during loading or ingame it sometimes messes up .
Just my 2 cents.
That particular headset had issues with a windows 10 update too
