I can't seem to get Prime stable (dual instances) at 3.2 GHz. If you have this board/CPU, do you have any advice? I'm using 6400 patriot RAM with 4-4-4-12 timings and bios F10. I also have a 550W power supply, thanks!

I run F10 without problems. This mobo is great for overclocking. You won't need to do nothing extraordinary to reach 3.4-3.5. After that it gets a little tricky (mostly to try to keep the temps as low as possible). Just try to keep your CPU voltage as low as possible w/o losing stability. Overclocking the FSB and MCH (just as you did) is very good for stability.

I'm hoping your right, it's just that right now, I'm not Prime stable. Does my BIOS indicate that I have something set wrong? Should I up the voltage on anything? Should I loosen RAM timings? I was hoping I wouldn't have to do that...

EDIT: Oh, btw. I'm running rev. 3.3

that patriot memory should run no problem at 4-4-4-12 at the clocks you're running.

Do you have all the advanced cpu features disabled? You could probably come down to 1.36 or so on the voltage.

Do you have an ati card? If so try setting your PCI Express frequency to 105mhz. (nevermind, just read your sig.)

The rev 3.3 should overclock like a beast, my rev 1.0 tops out at around 480fsb.

you could experiment with different multipliers, sometimes that increases stability and allows you to overclock higher, ive never tried this myself though since a high fsb seems to be a limiting factor

I would leave the RAM timings in auto for now. Once you are stable you should think of decrease them. I would increase the MCH and FSB another notch to see if you gain stability. Then you should put the PCIe freq. in 102. If you are not stable after all this, then you need to increase the CPU voltage. Every CPU is different. Some need less voltage than others to be stable.

Uhh, I have a DS3, and a X1950pro. Why shouldI raise my PCI-E frequency? Will I get better preformance/stability? Just curious. Thanks!

That's something only you can test. Every system/cpu is different. Try it and test if you gain some stability. I gained stability increasing my freq. to 102.

Ease up on the timings, start off with 5-5-5-15. Its weird my system can OC to 3.0 GHz at stock voltage except RAM voltage which I increased by +0.1V.

Also make sure that you disable all of this:

Part1. Tidying Up Your BIOS (not all BIOS may have those options)
*You must update your BIOS to the latest version before proceeding*

1. Disable ‘AI Tuning’ for ASUS, ‘C.I.A.2’ for Gigabyte
2. Set PCI Express (PCIe) frequency @100Mhz (‘Auto’ for DS3/DS4/DQ6)
3. Set PCI frequency @33Mhz
4. Disable Hyperpath 3 (for P5W DH only)
5. Disable any ‘spread spectrum’
6. Disable Q-Fan (for ASUS only)
7. Disable ‘Limit CPUID Max to 3’
8. Disable any overvoltage protection
9. Disable ‘C1E’
10. Disable ‘EIST’
11. Disable Virtualization Technology
12. Disable No-Execute Memory Protect
13. Disable any other thing you don’t use
14. Do not enable any speed enhancements you see

Also every parts are different and will overclock differently, don't tell me you skip to 356x9 instead of starting at 333x9.

Yeah, I disabled all that stuff. And yes, I started out at a lower FSB and I gradually OC'd. Based on other posts, I'm told 3.2 is extremely easy and common with my setup. I'll try relaxing the timings, but I'm really only running my 800MHz RAM at 712MHz, no? (FSB is at 356 now, RAM is running at 667).

Thanks again for everyone's input.
