Question DT 1990 big upgrade from DT990 Pro?

I currently have the DT 990 Pro 250ohm headset and I was wondering if the DT 1990 headphones were a decent-big upgrade? I would mostly use them for gaming and listening to music.

Also im using a "Monoprice desktop headphone amplifer" which is able to run up to 600ohms, but would upgrading this to something better like the Creative Sound blaster X7 improve sound quality?

Yep. A big jump from mid-fi to hi-fi. Like going from an HD598 to an HD600 or an HD650. The 1990s do everything better. They'd also reward a good amp/DAC chain.

You can often find the 1990s in a bundle with a hard case and something like a headphone amp. I didn't look hard but like here:
