I was comparing the Dell S2716DG (27", 1440p) to the S2417DG (24", 1440p) for a dual monitor setup and was wondering:

What reason(s) would one prefer a 24" 1440p monitor over a 27" 1440p monitor? I thought 27" was the "standard" size for 1440p. If I have the desk space for dual 27's, is there any reason to go with dual 24's instead?

Does text look a lot smaller on a 24" 1440p vs a 27" 1440p?

Yep distance is the primary factor. If you sit 2 feet or more from the monitors I would def get the 27". 1 foot or closer I would get the 24. Otherwise the corners of the screen would be to far in your peripheral vision. But it's personal preference.
