My rule of thumb is dual monitors for work and a big single one for play.

Reason being that if you want to get things done, that extra space is great. If you're watching movies or playing games they will look better on a big single screen.

Also would a gtx 960 2gb be able to handle a 27 inch and 24 inch monitor setup?

Even integrated graphics could manage that these days if you're just browsing and watching films etc. at 1080P

Depends on your budget and what you plan to use it for.


If you're willing to go down to 25'' you could get an ultra wide screen IPS monitor, that looks pretty cool. IPS means the colours will be a bit more accurate and more vibrant than a traditional TN panel:

Another option would be to get a fast TN panel (1ms response time), this means the monitor reacts faster and reduces ghosting in games so it looks a bit more fluid. I've never been able to notice the difference personally, not everyone will but here's a reasonable price on one:

If it was me I'd go for the 21:9 LG because it is IPS and it is the cheapest of the three, it's a bit smaller but you also have the novelty of ultra wide screen.
