[SOLVED] Dual 5120x1440 vs single 3840x2160

If I game on a 5120x1440 monitor, then have a second 5120x1440 monitor on top of that one which only displays my desktop, will that put more, less, or equal strain than if I were to run a single 3840x2160 monitor?

Less strain with the 2 Ultrawides, you're saving nearly 1 million pixels, the second monitor only displaying desktop makes little difference to GPU usage.

You have room for 2 super ultra wides though??? How big is your desk??

I currently have a 47x24 table, but am planning on getting the 74x24 Karlby counter top and use the Ikea Alex as its "legs".

So my current "monitor" is actually a TV, the 65-inch Samsung RU8000 to be precise. It's locked at 60Hz. I was planning on getting dual Odyssey G9's which can be set to 240Hz, which leads me to my next question:

Does it cause more strain on the GPU/CPU if I set the refresh rate to 240Hz vs locking the Odyssey G9's to 60Hz only?

More strain?
For gaming obviously massively.
You're literally unlocking the framerate to unlimited.

That Ultrawide is close to 4k resolution overall, I have no idea what GPU you have but in reality 4k 60fps is pretty close to the limits of what's currently achievable anyway.

240htz for Desktop usage? No, no real extra strain on either.

12% less pixels on the Ultrawide than 4k so yes absolutely.
