Hi,
So yesterday I decided to buy a 144HZ gaming monitor (the Acer XF240h) to upgrade from my ASUS VX228 and run both in a dual setup. I set everything up as best as I could: refresh rates and resolutions are set in the monitors' settings menus, though NVidia's control panel, windows resolution menu, etc. Everything works fine when I set my old 60hz monitor as the primary monitor. However, when I set my 144hz monitor as the primary one, I get video lag. The best way to describe the lag is that it's similar to running a game at 30fps. However, the lag happens in AND OUT of game, especially when I move a window from one monitor to the other.
To clarify myself, the issue is not present when I set my 60hz monitor as the primary one. To make my life easier, I am trying my best to set my 144hz monitor as the primary one though.
Here are my specs:
Intel core i5-4460 - Quad core at 3.20GHz
HyperX Fury 8GB of ram
Asus GTX 960 strix
Programs are running from an HDD: WD caviar blue
Also, my 60hz is hooked with an HDMI, and my 144hz monitor is connected through a display port, both directly connected to the GPU. Also, they are both running at 1080x1920p.
(Sorry for all the info!)
I looked at my CPU and RAM's performance through task manager while the lag happens:
- CPU stays under 15% load
- RAM stays under 3.25gb/8gb

I am really stumped as to what may be causing the issue! Thanks in advance for any help!

Solution
that is a FreeSync LCD with a low of 43hz and a max of 144hz you GPU will not use the freesync that is AMD cards.
the way I see it you have to options return the LCD or get new GPU like a AMD card like the RX-590 or a Vega-56 for 1080p, Vega64 at 1440p this will run that acer LCD well
