I'm thinking about buying a used computer with dual 320 MB 8800 gts's in SLI.
The only thing is, this would mean that it would be impossible to upgrade further, from the motherboard..
What would the performance be like with a setup like this.

And also, would an athlon 64 X2 @ 3.00 GHZ bottleneck the cards?

Well, I was thinking of buying it used with a 20 inch monitor (1680-1050), 8 gb of ram (I only need 4), 500 gb HD, and crappy rosewill PSU, and the case, of course

For 550.
I'm not sure if I'm gonna do it yet, any advice?

Well, my father needs a computer, too, so I was thinking of doing this.

Giving him the cpu and mobo, 4 gb of ram, and also the case, and a 380 watt + psu 80 gb hard drive I already have.
Then I would buy a phenom 920 with mobo combo from newegg, then a 22" 1080p monitor, then take 4 gb of the ram, use the 8800 gts in sli, the 500 gb HD, use the 650 watt PSU, then use a case I already have

Should coast around 950$ for two computers with monitors, is that a good idea?

yeah thats a good deal imo. although if the memory this computer has is running at 800MHz, you might wanna ditch all 8 gb and buy a new 4gb 1066. Memory isn't very expensive anyways, so faster is better
