Hi All.

Does anybody have this router and can you tell me if its any good, I have over 10 gadgets using Virgin Media as my ISP. Using both bands. Apple/Windows/Printers/Smart Tv etc.

Has anyone had problems with range over each band?
Would you suggest something else of equal or greater capability?

Thanks for your help.

Be very careful about chasing big number just because they are big numbers. It does not mean this will work better or faster than a less costly router.

First issue is this router uses 4x4 mimo on the 802.11ac to get that speed. That means you end devices must have 4 antenna to be able to run that fast. Most 802.11ac devices only have 2 antenna which limits your speed to 867m

Next it uses a non standard 802.11 protocol to get 600m number on 802.11n this is not supported by most devices. In this case it is also using 3x3 mimo and again most end devices only have 2 antenna which limits your speed to 300m.

So this device will likely run no faster than a router claiming to be 1200m ie 300+843.

You really need to look at your end...

You really need to look at your end devices to determine if it is worth the money to buy this.

The range/coverage is almost impossible to say since your house makes much more difference than differences in routers. Most transmit very near the legal maximum. Many of your end devices though likely do not transmit as much power and will impact the range well before a router will.

These fancy routers are easy to make putting these features in a cell phone or tablet is way way behind.
