Dual boot between window 7 and window 8

Hi.I currently using window 7 ultimate os.. i would like to try window 8.1 os.. because some software like Corel video studio x7 only works in window 8. I try to install the software in window 7 and i got some error. Come to the point, what is the disadvantage if I dual boot window 7 and window 8.1 in my laptop? If some software i install in window 7 is not working, can i install the software in my second os window 8? It is works? I beginner for this can u please help me??

If just that piece of software doesn't work in Windows 7 i don't think it'll be worth it to do a dual boot. You'd be better off just trying to fix the error you're getting under Windows 7. I don't know anything about Corel Video Studio, but if you post the problem then maybe there is a solution.
