I downloaded windows onto a hard drive for my friend to use on his computer and it works all fine until i remove it. It then goes to boot manager and I can't access recovery mode or anything from there besides just booting and even then it doesnt boot and sends me to the boot manager of windows. The storage on my pc when without the hard drive is stuck on recovery mode of windows with an error code of 0xc00000e and from there i can't reset or choose any options and i can't boot from it either. Only when i put the hard drive back into my pc everything works fine and I have the dual boot where I can boot either storage drive with no problem. I'm even using the computer right now with the two storage devices in my computer.

Yeah...that doesn't work.

  1. The boot info for this new install got merged into the boot info that already existed.
  2. You generally can't install on System A, and just move it to System B.

Please show us a screencap of your current Disk Management window.

drive C is mine and hard drive is my friend's and what do you mean by returning my system back to original config, sorry that you have to dumb it down for me.
oh nevermind i know what you mean, i could possibly reset my system but the other drive is going to be up for question.

im thinking i can wipe the hard drive then install windows through it on my friend's pc via flash drive now.
Install the OS on the drive, while it is in your friends PC.
