Hello,
I recently bought a crucial m550 256gb msata ssd for my dell inspiron 5720 ... I want to install both linux mint and windows 8.1 into msata drive and keep my HDD for storage purpose only ... I first installed windows 8.1 into msata n then installed Linux mint ... But then I was unable to boot into Linux mint because I had asked for the bootlaoder to be installed in the msata drive n when I tried to change the boot priority in my BIOS I couldn't see msata drive ... So I reinstalled Linux mint but this time with the bootloader in my HDD ... And now I can't boot into windows ... Please help what am I doing wrong and what could be the solution.

Thanks

There was a stage where you're given the option as to what you wanted to do "Dual boot with Windows", Install over Windows" or "Do something else". I suspect you chose the first when it should have been the last and created the partition and boot options manually. Use your W8 DVD (if you have one) and use the StartUp Repair to try to recover the boot control. You might need to familiarise yourself with the Command Prompt syntax under BOOTREC.

If no-one comes up with a better answer in twelve hours, post back and I'll move your thread to the Linux sub-Forum.
