Hi,

I have in the past tried dual booting my old laptop (with only HDD), and it did not work out well. This time I want to try dual booting my new laptop - 256gb ssd and 1tb hdd, with both Windows and Ubuntu os on the ssd and the storage on hdd. I was wondering if someone could please provide me steps as well as some good partitions.

Thanks!

Solution
use Gparted or performe a custom install in windows and partition the drive your self, and split the 256GB drive into two 128GB partitions, install windows 10 on one 128GB partition on the SSD, then Run the live CD installer for Linux, it should see the 128GB open partition and use it, then format and use the HDD for games and data.
