Dual boot windows and use same program files?

So I just had the thought of portioning my OS drive (which is an SSD) to run both Windows 7 (which I still use now) and Windows 10. Whenever I install a program I made sure to install it on my second drive so that this idea that I'm now trying to pursue might be easier. I have an installl of Windows 10 on a flash drive ready to install, but I want to know if its possible to use already existing programs that are installed on Windows 7 from another partition.

Any programs that require registry entries or OS specific code or drivers will not run on both.

Is there a good way to take the prexisting folders and enter them into the registry?

Yes by reinstalling the software..

So its almost required that I have 2 versions of the same program, one for 10 and one for 7?

You might be able to get away reinstalling it to the same folder it already lives in but chances are there will be problems that pop up later.

Yes you do need 2 copies if you want to run the software using two operating systems. Not only is it a limitation of the Operating systems but it is also covered by the EULA and license agreement.
