Hey guys,
I tried searching this and I'm still unsure how to boot an old IDE hard drive w/ XP from a very old computer to a newer Windows 7 computer that has a SATA motherboard.

I want to use a licensed program on the IDE hard drive on the new computer through dual booting. I tried connecting the IDE hard drive through an adapter. http://www.amazon.com/Inateck-Universal-Converter-Adapter-Optical/dp/B00MLYV5XY
But when I try to boot it through the BIOS, it says there are files missing and won't boot at all.

Is it because I didn't uninstall the drivers from the XP hard drive? Or is it something else? If so, what are the steps I need to take?
Also if there is alternative way to move the licensed program to the new computer, please let me know

Thanks :)

You can't move Windows XP to different hardware and expect it to work as though nothing is different - - it doesn't work like that mate.

When you move an OS hard drive to a different computer, you have to wipe the OS off that drive then perform a clean install using Microsoft Windows XP installation media.
