I'm using a windows 7 based gaming PC. I already have 2 HDDs one main one backup, I wanted to put in an SSD and install windows 10 on that while retaining windows 7 on my main hard drive.

I'd like to be able to boot between the two....will I face problems?

Specs:
i7-2600k
z77 sabertooth
16gb ram (2x4gb hyper x Blue) (2x4gb kingston beasts)
MSI 970 twin frozer (i have an extra one that i may use for sli)
800w psu gold rated.

I'm hoping I won't have driver issues when trying to operate windows 10. I'll eventually upgrade my motherboard and cpu when the 6th gen processors release (Skylake?)....I think I'll need to as my current cpu/mobo may bottleneck performance? I have no idea lol.

I'm just hoping there's not a lot I need to do in terms of upgrades.

Solution
No, that will work fine.

You can either stick with standard bootloader (so you have to hit f8 to bring up the menu, then select the seconadry OS to use it) or you could add an additional third party one that'll let you pick each time you boot up. But yes, that's fine.

Solution
No problems at all.

There are two ways to do this, depending on how you want to select which drive/OS to use.

1. Select which in the BIOS.
For this, you disconnect all other drives, except what you want Windows 10 on.
Install
When you boot, choose in the BIOS

or

2. Use the Windows boot manager
For this, leave the current Windows 7 drive connected.
Install Windows 10.

After the install, when you boot, you will be presented with a menu like this:

This is on a single drive, 2 partitions. But it would work with 2 separate drives.
