Question Dual channel 2666 vs single channel 3200 for Ryzen 2200U

I tried to google the answer but I kept on getting different results. I understand that Ryzen performs better with fast RAM, but I also read that single channel hinders its performance

All I could find is a (4GB x 2) @ 2666 or a (8GBx1) @ 3200 for my laptop. I really don't want to go up to 16GB because it would be a waste of money since I know I will never use that much.

Get the 2 x 4GB. The speed difference will be irrelevant when considering dual vs. single channel operations. Most laptops can't really take advantage of faster memory anyway.
